Wrestling is fake?

There is a huge difference between 'staged' and 'fake'.

Care to enlighten me on those two differences?

Oh, and I have taken a few "bumps" in my time. A couple of friends got me in with a local wrestling promoter back in '94. Just what it was though, local. Small crowds, small payoffs. Not enough money to justify the travel and the bruising.

Staged = predetermined outcome.

Growing up, I remember hearing about how wrestlers used packets of ketchup and other props to 'fake' cuts, etc.

All you have to do is take one look at Ric Flair or Abdullah the Butcher's forehead to realize that they do indeed blade.

When you hear the word 'fake', you tend to think that the action isn't real. While the workers do take measures to protect each other, the beatings administered in the ring are anything but 'fake'.

All I know is that I don't want The Rock to hit me in the head with a steel chair three times while my hands are tied behind my back.

Wrestling is fake in that it cannot actually be considered "wrestling." It's merely acting. The guys aren't actually competing with one another and don't actually intend to cause pain to one another, therefore I have no interest in it and probably will never have any interest in it.

If they were actually out there fighting, yes, it would be quite an amazing thing to see .. but I have no interest in watching a bunch of guys (several in costumes) acting out fighting. It doesn't even have hardly anything to do with what "wrestling" actually is.

The "wrestling" we see on television sucks. It's just goofy and boring and there's really not even a point, considering the fact that even the story/"wrestlers" usually suck as well and aren't in the least bit interesting. Several years ago it was a bit more interesting with Stone Cold, etc., but today it's horrible - how anyone can actually watch that crap, I will never know.
